Attention to: Mr. Ralph Chiodo August 24, 2003 QEW 427 Dodge Chrysler 580 Evans Ave. Toronto, Ontario M8W 2W1 Regarding: Deal 38525 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 (Vin.# 3B7KF23Z1XG226356). Sales rep. John Dear Mr. Ralph Chiodo Thought I would share my experience with you regarding my vechicle purchase with your 5 Star Chrysler Dealership. I just purchased a used 1999 Dodge Ram 2500. Your sales rep. John was very helpful and concerned, walking me through the steps of the purchase. Stating that on the date of purchase Wednesday 13 Aug. 2003 the truck would be inspected and cleaned by the detail dept. Delivery date was set for Saturday 16 Aug. 2003 in which I did not get my truck due to the power outage. I was informed that there would be some delays in the matter due to the fact of the Ontario Hydro outage. John stated that it was due to go in for servicing on the Friday and since there was no Hydro it would not be looked at til Monday as well as that dept. does not work for them on Saturday. Monday I stopped by to see how things where going. At this time John informed me that it was over at the mechanical stage and would be inspected and cleaned. This is a time process due to the detailing that is required as well as the back log for the loss of hydro for two days. We walked over and he pointed out all the things that would be fixed on the truck. He at this time informed me that the scratch marks and the paint missing on the tail gate would all be fixed by the detail dept. He then walked me over and showed me a another Pick Up that was almost completed and looked amazing. I asked John when getting the plates for the truck if he could get me a Fire Fighters Plate, he stated he would try and mentioned this to the person who plates the trucks at your dealership. Not hearing from John on Tuesday, I called on Wednesday to find out how things are making out. He stated that there was a problem trying to get plates and that the truck should be plated that evening. I informed John that I would be by Thursday evening to pick up the truck. I called John on Thursday and he informed me that the truck was ready to go. To my surprise nothing was far from that truth. The truck was not cleaned and the touch ups where not done. The tail gate when I opened it would not close. There was dixie cups in the truck. I also pointed out that the compartment for the center council was not closing and it was to have been looked at. I just got a shrugged shoulder from the sales manager. As well the box liner to the tail gate was not even attached. They looked for some screws and where able to get three in and gave me the other screw and told me to pre-drill the hole and the screw will go in. John informed me that he was going to gas up the truck at the time of purchase. When I was ready to leave I seen that the truck was just over a ¼ tank of fuel. I was informed from both John and the sales manager that it was an over site and that the next oil change will be on the house and they will do the touch ups. John was very upset as he put it to me, that the other department did not do the work that was required. I myself felt that John dropped the ball on the other dept rather than following up and making sure everything was completed. I?ve always been told that putting down other departments is not a good way to get out of the mistakes one makes. Team work is what John should have been doing and following along with all the steps from start to finish. I waited for over an hour well they ran around fueling up the truck to a ¼ tank and putting the plates on when this should have already been done. I always figured a 5 Star meant customer first not excuess first. The most shocking factor of all this was that the signed deal shows mileage of 92554 and when I pulled in my driveway last night it just turned over to 93000km. I know I was looking forward to driving my new truck home but also I know that taking the 427 to 401 up to the 410 to Caledon is less than 446kms the last time I drove it. Why would after putting down my deposit on the purchase of my turck would the mileage all of a sudden be so high. That day I called my insurance company to add the vehicle under my insurance. Why does your dealership allow sold vehicles to be driven by anyone after being sold? This was the worst experience I have ever had to deal with in any purchase. At the time they suggested that I leave the truck there and that the work would be done but informed them that I was told it was ready and I had no other way to get home to Caledon and drove my truck home very upset and unsatisfied. At this point I was very tired and fustrated with all the excuses I was being given. Hydro was out for only 2 days but the vehicle was delayed for 5 days and nothing was really done on it. Other than someone drove over 400kms after I put down a deposit. Even with the suggestion that John drop off the truck to me or meet me somewhere closer was a great idea at the time of purchase until the time came for delivery of the truck then all of a sudden it could not be done. John informed me that he was to busy and that he would not be able to do this for me. Nothing was done and nothing was offered to me other than a free oil change. What is that when I had to go through all this fustration and nothing was resolved. One would figure with all the screw ups and the delays and the lack of communications that they could think of someway to make this better for me. The major over site of mileage and John not making sure everything was ready or done on time was very upsetting. For all the troubles they caused me one would think that you would hear I?m sorry for the delays and we under coated your truck for free or gave you an extended warranty or we usually only put $25.00 of gas in but I filled it up for you for all the troubles. But nothing other than a free oil change. Wow that just makes you want to come back all the way from Caledon. I understand that some things go un-noticed and well other things should be reported. Sales people always get shafted for the lack of help they offer after the deal is signed. I can see why now, I was in your dealer ship for less than 15 minutes and never test drove the truck. Pointed at the truck and told John lets write up the deal, it must have been the quickest deal he?s had to do. From that point I regret dealing with your dealership. There is a lack of follow up from that point on. With John complaining that he is stressed and people yelling at him. John expressed that the other departments drop the ball on this one. John the salesman dropped the ball with not following up nor taking any of my concerns to heart. I thought that I would share my experience with you. John will tell you I was not very happy and I did not say much. As I was afraid what I would of said or done. So I felt that I would share my experience that I will share with others. Anyone who will listen or read my banner on the back of the truck to cover up the mistakes that where over looked by the Sales Rep. John.
