Parts and service good but busy. Cummins guy not so good by reputation so we
used other dealers diesel guy. Service writers a bit wish washy / afraid to
commit so you have to be a butt. Sales ? Ugh !!!! Nasty, slimy greasy typical
pit of high pressure snakes. One asked my wife for her wedding rings as down
to prove commitment to buy. Same games of running to manager and sign here if
I can do that blah blah. Created false advertising in Sunday paper then blamed
paper. Yeah right buddy !!

Parts dept. seem to be very knowledgeable. I have enjoyed doing business with
them and will continue to do business with them.

Took my new Durango in for a couple of minor adjustments one being the back
seat (not 3rd seat) being difficult to release for entry into the 3rd seat.
Now it's so loose that it rattles. Had the front end aligned and the upper A
arms came loose a few months later. Found out that they didn't have an alignment
rack there and they send it out. This dealership has had a lousy service department
since they opened it many years ago. I keep hoping that it will change since
it is so close to me. The parts department seems to be pretty good though. Tried
to drive a new Avenger when they first came out but the salesman said it was
Mr. Tubbs (dealership owner) personal car...but it had dealer plates on it so
I questioned that. We ended up driving it after I asked if they were in the
business to sell cars or collect them for the owner. Heck, Tubbs is so old he
can barely walk let alone drive. The rear end is starting to make noise and
I'm afraid to that it there. I'm thinking of!
calling River Oaks Chrysler cause they have an excellent reputation and fixed
an almost totalled Dakota for us and did an excellent job. Gotta find out if
they will work on the Durango....
I hear so many good stories about the import service departments.....why can't
our domestic cars get the same treatment??

Purchased a Dodge 4 dr truck for my husband, have had to take it back several
times first because of an oil leak, then the cd changer would not work, then
realized something wrong with the brakes, blinkers would not turn off, and one
time the interior light would not go off... finally realized would need to contact
dodge headquarters directly and they are not looking into this,, as no record
of this was ever inventoried at CLD. But luckily I kept all my paperwork,,,
At the time of sale, I felt like the vultures were out,,we were not even parked
and a sales person came at us,, It took us two days to decide,,, they offer
a lot but unless you have it in writing CLD will not accept it. Beware of sales
person telling you but not writing it, I read all contract and refused to sign
it until it was as salesperson delivered
his sales pitch... I just recently purchased a durango, from Allen Samuels,
with no pressure and a better deal than CLD could have given me.. I purchased
this vehicle xmas eve. I enjoy it and have always purchased Dodge vehicles.
I will never go back to CLD,, and I hope to get the truck incident cleared and
finalize soon..DO NOT GO TO CLD.

Sales=Fair, Service=Don't Know, bought there=No, scv_there=No,
I visited the dealership several times looking for a particular vehicle. Salesperson
was friendly and I was able to secure a verbal price based on a $1500 rebate.
A few days later, I was ready to buy. The salesperson agreed to the verbal price
but went $200 cheaper if I agreed to another color that they could get the very
next day. I took the bait and signed the paperwork. I was then told that it
would take at least four days for them to get the truck. Upon getting home,
I noticed that the paperwork reflected a $2000 rebate not a $1500. A check with
Dodge.com showed the rebate had changed the day before but I was not told this.
When I called the dealership, I was told that they couldn't honor the verbal
price given with the new rebate applied (hence $500 cheaper) because they would
be losing money. I was told to take the deal as is or walk away. Since I did
not have possession of the truck, I gladly backed out.
I know that I should have caught the rebate change in the paperwork before signing
but since the bottom line didn't change, I missed it. I also should have been
more cautious when they were hurrying my bank to get drafting and required me
to sign papers such as inspection, registration, rebate, and vehicle acceptance
forms with the vehicle not even on premises. In the end, it was a total waste
of time and energy both for the dealership staff and myself over a measly $500
change in rebate.

Sales=Poor, Service=Avoid,
Bought the vehicle there in 94. Had numerous things wrong with the vehicle.
They never have what it takes to fix the vehicle and must order the parts. Also,
anytime I need a part, I call them for a price. Then I call Allen Samuels Dodge.
Not only is Clear Lake Dodge higher on their parts, but sometimes $100 more
than their competitor for the same part. I felt like when we bought the vehicle,
that they pushed us into it. Once your in, their support is nonexistent. I wonder
who they bought off for a 5 Star Rating?!?!?!!?!?!?

Sales=Don't Know, Service=Avoid,
Have had my Ram in on many occasions. Round One: When the truck was delivered,
I noted that the clips were broken on the plastic fascia and cap on front bumper
but would have to bring the truck back at a later date. Trim Tech used drywall
screws instead of factory plastic rivets to attach the ends of the new plastic
fascia and cap together. Service Manager said this was the best solution according
to the Trim Tech. Round Two: Massive oil leak on 24V and truck towed in on a
Sunday night. Truck sat in lot until following Monday and finally repaired on
Wednesday. Round Three: Truck taken in to get drivers seat cover replaced; part
was not in stock and was ordered. I was told to schedule and appointment when
I received the postcard in the mail. Postcard arrived and I scheduled the appointment
for a Monday morning at 7:00am. Truck sat in the lot until Thursday and the
they determined the seat cover was incorrect for the application or was not
actually in stock. Part was ! reordered but I retrieved the vehicle on Friday
at 6:00pm. DC approved the replacement of the steering box on a trip to a different
dealer, CLD refused to honor the approval. I tried to reach the General Manager
who was never available and was referred to the Sales Manager "who is trained
to handle complaints". I voiced my opinion about reordering a part that was
already special ordered and the fact that the truck sat for five days. His response
was, "Well, when you have nine vehicles that were bought a CLD and one that
was not, well, you know who will get priority, right?" What more can I say about
CLD?

Postcard (for service appointment) arrived so I scheduled the appointment
for this past Monday and dropped the truck off at 7:00am. Monday at 6:30pm,
truck in same spot. Tuesday at 6:30pm, truck in same spot. Wednesday at 6:30pm,
truck backed into same spot. So I called the service writer and asked him what
the story was. He said, "Sir, my TBH is working on it as we speak". Thursday
at 6:30, truck in the same spot. I poked my head into the SM's office and asked
to talk to him. He iced me for a half hour then came out smiling. He listened
and then said let's go talk to the service writer. When asked what the status
was on my truck, he said "the seat cover is finished and I'm waiting on the
front end TBH". I asked why it should take even two days for a four hour job
(allowing 2 days for a backlog). He said they either did not have the part or
it was incorrect and they had to order another. Sir, the lead service writer
"just told you what was on the computer screen". If this is true, how did he
know the part had been reordered on Wednesday and why didn't he tell me??? If
your from around the Houston area...steer clear of Clear Lake Dodge, a Five
Star Dealer no less (which is just more BS).

They replaced my steering box and seat cover...of course, they did not align
the steering and gouged the hell out of my hood when they popped it open. "5
Star" banners hanging all over the place. Unfortunately, it is just "bait" to
lure unsuspecting customers into the shop.
