Service at Touchette is dismal. In the past year I have had the dubious pleasure
of getting maintenance performed there, and they single-handedly convinced me
to never do business with them again once the lease is up and I'm not obligated
to deal with them. Two experiences have soured me particularly:
1- the brakes were replaced on my vehicle, but were so worn they had to be replaced
within the year. This was due to a brake fluid issue (I know because after my
reg. maintenance included changing the brake fluid the problem went away). Even
though the replaced brakes were guaranteed for a year, Touchette charged me
for them and refused to honor the warranty, and this was after outright lying
to me several times about the issue. The service dept. is just plain dishonest
with customers.
2- Last regular maintenance (Nov.2005) I had two specific requests -- one body
panel had to be reset slightly (long story, but I had had a similar resetting
done before), and I had asked that the tires not be rotated since I had just
changed to snow tires. When I picked up the car the panel was still not set
properly, and on top of that Touchette had the b*lls to charge me for the tire
rotation I had specified I did not want.
I tried appealing to Chrysler Canada on the first issue, but they refused to
do anything about it. One thing's for sure -- I (and several people I mentioned
the problem too) will not be buying Chrysler vehicles in the future -- and if
by some stroke of misfortune we had to, we sure wouldn't do business with Touchette
Dodge Chrysler.

I brought my Dodge Neon to Touchette Dodge, because I was having problems with
coolant not taking into my engine. I returned a couple weeks later, after Touchette
had not even called me to tell me the car was repaired. Touchette said it was
repaired, and I paid in full, then drove away, but then 20 minutes down the
road, my engine literally set on fire because coolant was pouring out on top
of it, and I had the car immediately towed back to Touchette's. At this point,
Touchette denied any responsibility for not fixing my car correctly, but did
return my check. However, they would not return any $$$ for the damages to the
car, due to them not diagnosing the right problem. When I came to tow away my
completely disabled car a month later, they forced me to pay for the wrong repairs
which they made prior to the car being damaged. On top of it, I later found
many parts in the car missing, STOLEN by Touchette Dodge! These parts amounted
to hundreds of dollars! They denied any responsibility! Not only that, but I
found out later that the car was still UNDER WARRANTY and they had told me the
car was OUT OF warranty! Of course, they refused to refund anything. This is
all absolutely true. Please, please avoid these people!
