My dealership gives the impression of being professional and organized, but
in reality I really believe they are thieves and cheat their customers every
chance they get.
As an example when I went for my 10th maintenance visit, the person I was speaking
to recommend that I change my belts for the 3rd time, without even inspecting
the vehicle.
When I asked him why, he said because the computer is telling him that after
90,000KM it was required to change them. I then told him that not more than
6 months ago they had already been changed, and that he should have known that
from my records. He paused, and then said he would get back to me after verifying.
This is only one item out of 5 that he recommended I change during that visit.
I then told him that I would leave the car for the day and that if there should
be any new developments to let me know before anything is done. Well, he called
me that day and told me that I needed to change my oil pan and that it was rusted.
I told him that the metal is about ¼ inch thick and that it can NOT be
rusted through and through as there is no leakage. Anyway he convinced me that
I needed to chance it. I asked him to keep the old pan, as I wanted to examine
it when I came to pick up my van. The morning after I had a chance to inspect
the oil pan and discovered that it was only surface rust, which by the way is
normal ware and tear. I was very disappointed that they had changed it and told
him that it was an unnecessary expense ($200.00). He said that his mechanic
insisted, and it was very dangerous to drive the car in that condition.
As I was driving away in the rain after paying 340.00, and not more than 5 KM
from the dealer I put on my wipers only to find out that they were not working.
Well, you can imagine how I felt, I was furious and called the service man over
the phone to let him know that I was not happy and I needed someone to look
at it ASAP. When I got there I asked the service man, how is this possible,
his reply ?it happens?. I could not believe his reply. Anyway the problem was
that the mechanic who worked on the van prior forgot to connect some electrical
wiring.
I then thought to my self, what if I was driving at 100KM/hour on the highway
and it would start to rain. If my wipers would not working I could have had
a serious accident. Does Chrysler as a company, think for a moment that I would
put my life and the life of my family or others in danger because of the incompetents
of their mechanics?
I can go on with these stories, as I have many, but I would be typing all day.
To make a long story short, I have absolutely NO confidence with this dealership,
or Chrysler in general. I will NEVER buy another car from Chrysler again.
This message my not get to the person intended, pity, but I feel that it was
important to give this feedback.
Your unhappy customer???.
