The service department for Frontier Motors in Island City Oregon has got to be one of the worst that I have encountered in 30+ years of vehicle ownership. These people either don't have a clue as to how to diagnose and resolve problems or they are crooks. Most recent experience was with 2003 3500 Ram Extended Cab truck. Noticed that the truck was slinging oil from transfer case. Took it to the dealer and the service rep looked at it and said yes you have a problem. Made an appointment to get it repaired as the truck was still 500 miles under warranty. Wife took it in and they tell her there is nothing wrong with the truck. I take it to another Dodge dealer, they find seal on rear yoke of transfer case is leaking, oil is all over bottom of box, front driveline u-joints are shot, all 4 shocks need replaced and were leaking oil. This is just most recent example of dealing with these jokers. I will never deal with these crooks/buffoons again. Has almost made me reconsider owning a Dodge, however other dealer has gone a long way to make up for Frontier Motors' incompetence or underhandedness (not sure which to classify it as). By the way in my corner of Oregon Courtney Motors of Enterprise is far and away a better choice if you want honest professional work on your Dodge vehicle.
This is the 2nd new style Dodge I have owned the first a 1994 2500 4x4 has been a much more dependable truck over the long term. I have had all the u-joints replaced in my 3500, had the rear yoke seal on the transfer case go out, numerous light problems. And lastly the sorry excuse for a dealership which Frontier Motors represents in Island City Oregon.
