The Big 3 are no longer on top because of the way the few bad dealers treat customers. Our tax dollars are being used to bail out these companies, and yet they are not getting to the root cause of their demise. I purchased a Ram SRT10 a year and a half ago, and my wife owns a Caravan whose lease is done in 2 months. I had a bad service experience with the Unique Chrysler and responded to their service survey. This is the email I recieved from the President of the dealership;
(note: I can't tell from this submission whether the email subject "Trying to get my head out of my ass" was originated by Sandy Calder or by Vincent Marchese. I also do not know what was sent in Vincent Marchese's original email. I would like to hear more from both sides)

Vincent:

I owned Unique in Oakville and I own it now. I've owned it when we were AMC, when we had those substandard Renault pieces of trash and I own it now.

Your vehicle is out of warranty, you don't have a Service Contract --- and yet you feel Unique's Service Department should do something for free?

I don't understand what would make you think we would work for free. I am certain you don't. If you were a regular customer who did his work at Unique we would be happy to do free estimates, etc. But for a transient free loader who wants a dealer to provide estimates of what requires doing and then go somewhere else to have the work done - thanks but no thanks. We don't want you as a customer and you don't want us as your servicing dealer. At least we can agree on that!

For 25 years I have worked for Ford, American Motors and Chrysler in auto assembly plants and now with a tier 1 supplier. I am a Six Sigma Black Belt and I have dealt with many dealer principles and I have never seen such arogance from any business man who is suppose to be hurting financially. No wonder everyone is turning to Japanese vehicles. Why would I now buy a Chrysler after this dealership showing me how they treat their customers.

I warn everyone to stay away from Unique Chrysler Dodge Jeep and any other arogant dealers, they need to weed out these dinasours from the 70's. My Dodge Ram SRT-10 Yellow Fever is the hotest truck on the street, it's a shame I have dealers like Unique Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep that destroy Dodge's reputation.
