I have bought 4 new cars and one used car from progressive dodge in the past
14 months and have never been treated better anywhere!! My last car was from
a ford dealer in Hartville and it was a nightmare in service and sales! Hats
off to progressive dodge! Some one finally got the way to do business right!!!
They will always be my dealer!! I even got a free loaner from service when my
car needed a repair!!!

I thought my 1994 Ram 1500 was not shifting out of first gear at the proper
time. I called the dealership and asked if they could look at it. The service
manager told me to bring it in the next day (Tuesday) and they would look at
it. I had it there at 8 A.M. and waited for their call. At 4 P.M. I called and
the service manager stated they would not be able to look at it until Wednesday.
Wednesday at 1 P.M. I called to see if they had done anything yet. The service
manager stated they had driven it and found the transmission linkage needed
freed up and they suggested a powerflush of the transmission. He stated the
cost for this would be about $450. I gave the go ahead and he stated he would
call me when it was ready. At 5 P.M. he called and stated the transmission was
shot and needed rebuilt. He stated he could rebuild it for $1800 or put in a
Chrysler rebuilt transmission for $2800. I asked if the pan had been pulled
and he said yes and there were some particles of foreign matter in the bottom
of the pan. I told him I wanted to check around and would get back to him. The
next morning (Thursday) 9 A.M., I called and told him to rebuild it. He stated
he would have to get a parts list and give me a better price. I called back
at 3 P.M. and he stated he still had not got a price list ready. On Friday he
called and gave me a price of $2300. I asked what happened to the $1800 price
and he stated that was just a rough estimate. I told him I would come down and
pick up the vehicle. I got in the vehicle and could hear a strange noise but
decided to take it home anyway. About a block from the dealership, I lost the
transmission. It was just like putting it in neutral. I called a tow truck and
had it towed my home. I then found a reputable transmission repair service who
told me that only 1st gear needed repaired plus the torque converter needed
replaced. He did this work for $1156. He further stated the pan had not recently
been off this transmission! I have had a Chrysler vehicle in my family since
1976 but I am afraid I will never have another.

Dropped car off on a Saturday-on Monday they told me they'd have my car for
me that day. Then called and said couldn't get report so it had to wait 'till
Tuesday. Then too late in day to get available part so it wasn't done 'till
Wednesday. Did not return calls during this time. My main complaint is against
the roadside assistance who had me towed to a dealership that did not have available
service on Saturday. What help is that when you are out of town??? That dealership
(Weekley Chrysler Products) was kind enough to have someone on their skeleton
crew look at it but was unable to fix the problem that day. I have had more
problems with this car 2002 Stratus they I care to think about!!

Bought truck on a Saturday. It had a blown fuse and burned out tail light. Dropped
truck off Monday morning to be take care of and once-overed. I picked it up
after work Monday in the dark. Tuesday in the daylight I noticed the paint on
the hood was blistered. It looked as if brake fluid or some other caustic material
had been dripped all over the hood and ate the paint completely off. I called
and took the truck back only to get the runaround and told it's my problem now.
I ended up having to make a comp claim on my insurance.
(FWIW: My family lived south of the Canton/Massilon area back in the 60's/70's,
and we had several vehicles sustain similar damage. All of our damage appeared
to have been caused by tank trucks leaking some type of industrial chemical
in the Canton I77 corridor. - Dave F.)
