Sales=Excellent, Service=Poor (Avoid assigned), Parts=Poor,
bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes, Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=No,
I purchased a newer used dodge neon (25,000 miles). Sales? Wonderful. I was
sold a car as easily as a child is sold on eating candy. The SERVICE department
however should be avoided like the plague. This service department did not do
any of the services I requested that were under warranty. The person taking
my order when I arrived did not write down everything I had requested. When
my warranty ran out, they were unwilling to perform services previously requested
unless a full price was paid. Before the warranty ran out I made several phone
calls complaining about the front desk counter staff (the staff and their families
were placed before me even though I stood there for 10 minutes) as well as complaints
regarding my vehicle's (non) service. Every time I went to have my vehicle serviced
the front counter staff made me wait, even though I was first in line, for 10
minutes. Across the board, it didn't matter what I was there for, I was guaranteed
a 10 minute wait at the counter until I was acknowledged. As far as warranteed
parts - I was told certain things were normal for a Dodge Neon...such as loose
windows that rattle when they are rolled down, and batteries that die on a Sunday
when they are closed so no refunds are issued - even if the new battery was
needed to get me home (spending the night at AutoZone was not an option - and
this happened a mere month after I bought the car there). I now have a window
that I cannot roll down at all. I eventually spoke with Joe Horace himself.
He listened to all issues that I had and told me his customer service rep would
be in touch with me. She called me one time, listened to what happened, promised
she would resolve the issues, and she'd call me back. She did call me one time
to confirm that yes, rattling, loose windows are absolutely normal for a neon.
She promised a free re-visit and re-evaluation of my vehicle as well as a "couple"
free oil changes, and she would be calling me to set up an appointment. I never
heard from her again. And honestly, I would NEVER recommend this dealership
to ANYONE anywhere. What a waste of time and money and frustration. And I am
hoping to post this warning to other young car buyers out there so you will
not be scammed the way I was. I do not expect a call from SF Dodge - I gave
up on that months ago and honestly hope to never deal with them again. If this
message even helps one person avoid the disaster I am paying for, then posting
the message is worth the effort.
