My complaint with Lee Dodge of Auburn was that on 22 April, my family and I
decided to look for a new automobile for my wife, since her 1999 Dodge Caravan
was getting up there in miles. Well we decided on a Dodge Stratus and that took
about a whole 15-30 minutes to do. When we went in and the sales clerk asked
me for my information so he could print out my credit report, I informed him
at that time that my credit was in shambles, but my credit with Chrysler Financial
was flawless. I also informed him that in September I purchased my 2003 Dodge
Dakota quadcab 4X4 and Chrysler Financial gave me a 1.9 percent. Well to make
a long complaint short, he informed me that it would take awhile and that it
should take about an hour. So my family and I went to lunch. An hour later we
returned to find that we still had to wait for another 2 hours before we even
got to sit down with anyone. By this time my 22 month old had lost interest
in car buying and wanted nothing more to do with Lee Dodge. I should have took
heed to my child's request. When we finally sat down with the person that handles
the loan part of it, he informed me that I was disapproved for a loan through
Chrysler and that he could get me financed through a rip off company called
Ameria Credit or something like that. At 17.5 percent. The sales rep that I
had talked to 4 hours before had me in the Stratus for $400 payments over 5
years. Well this character had me financed for the same car at payments like
$420 over 6 years. This would have cost me an additional $6,240 over what I
was originally quoted. Well on a $16,000 automobile I would have paid in the
6 years $30,600 at payoff. That is almost double the price of the car. Is there
laws on new dealers that would do something like that. Now I know why people
are forced into filling for bankruptcy. Well I asked him why Chrysler refused
me since they approved me not 6 months ago and are currently financing me on
my wife's van and he said because my credit score was to low. I agreed with
him but I also stated that Chrysler knew this before when I had the same credit
score 6 months earlier. Well he called a couple numbers to Chrysler and low
and behold no one answered. Huummmmmm mid-day on a Thursday and no one answering
the phones. We'll he mentioned that if I would like I could wait another hour
to see if he could get Chrysler on the phone so I could ask my questions. I
not only told him no but hell no and laughed. Here it is 27 April and I still
have yet heard anything from Lee Dodge on why they had disapproved me. Glad
I did not wait........... I would not recommend company to no one.
Next time I would recommend to Lee Dodge that instead of insulting my intelligence
with an outrageous 17.5 percent loan company, just shake my hand and say sorry
there is nothing I can do for you. And its really to bad that a company like
Chrysler Financial didn't offer a rate for personnel that have problems with
there credit...... Where only human
