I was trading in my 95 Jeep, and buying a 04 Dakota. The sales manager promised
me $2500.00 in trade for my Jeep. While working out the price on the Dakota
with the salesman, the sales manager pulled my Jeep into the service bay. After
a couple of minutes he called me over and pointed out the my radiator was leaking
(about a cup a minute) and that my trade-in valve dropped to $1800.00 ($700.00
for a radiator ?)
Okey, maybe a car with 90,000 mile could have a bad radiator....What the sales
manager didn't know that an hour earlier I was at Bill Kay Chrysler. They were
set to give me $2500, and my radiator was not leaking there.

Dealership Management are from the old school, i.e. HIGH PRESSURE. Won't let
a customer walk without hassling them! Be extremely careful with the figures
when trying to buy a new car there! Find your invoice prices on the internet
and then go into the showroom, demand to see their copy of the invoice and negotiate
up from the invoice prices. New car inventory very sparse, because they prefer
to sell you a used car on which their profit margin is larger. Same thing when
you go into the business office if you do decide to buy. Make sure you've checked
out finance rates elsewhere and make sure you tell the business manager what
rate you can get elsewhere, otherwise he will give you the highest rate he can
get away with. This dealership also pushes aftermarket "appearance",
alarm and extended warranty packages that are extremely over prices. Example:
The appearance package cost them less than $200, yet the will give you a deal
by charging only $1000 (and up). Certified vehicles are not truly certified.
If you ask to see the certification on a car or ask about the certification
process, you will get a bunch of mumble jumble about them being in the process
of transferring records on certifications into the computer system, when in
actuality, there is no certification program. Most cars just washed, detailed
and put on the lot to sell! I was going to buy a car here, but because of the
aggressiveness of the salesmen and sales manager, I went elsewhere, found the
same exact car with the same options and saved over $2,000.00 and didn't have
to put up with the b.s. this dealership dishes out.
