Sales=Excellent, Service=Poor, Parts=Don't Know, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes,
Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=No,
The day after we took delivery of this car we noticed the problem of what seemed
like a miss after the car started. After pulling out of our driveway going up
our street, at a slight incline, the car shutters and the transmission feels
like it is slipping. Most of the time we are not sure if it will make it to
the top.
Within the first week we experienced the second problem of the engine dying.
This problem ONLY occurs when the engine is at normal operating temperature.
When we come to a stop sign the engine drops down to 100-200 RPM. Several times
the engine has died. One time after the stoplight turned green we almost got
rear ended because the engine had died and I had to restart the car. One day
I had to make a panic stop in an intersection, car turned in front of me, the
engine died. Again, I almost got rear-ended. We pulled out of a friend?s drive
Nov 26th and the car started missing with a car coming up upon us quickly. We
consider these incidences a SAFETY issue. Safety is an issue when we experience
an unexpected event that puts the driver in a situation where the driver cannot
safely control the vehicle.
The third unresolved problem is the high-pitched whining sound which sounds
like standing next to a jet engine. This problem occurs between 35-40 MPH and
again between 65-70 MPH. This noise is extremely annoying. At the 65 MPH the
noise is louder than the radio, at a normal listening volume. Each time I have
had the car in for repairs I have asked what was found and I have been told
there is no unusual noise. When my service writer tracked down the Service Manager
he told me there is not anything wrong with the car. The drive train whining
is typical for this car and nothing can be done to resolve this issue. It is
obvious to me the Chrysler Engineers did not seek any Voice of the Customer
input to what is and is not acceptable drive train noise.
I have returned the car to the dealer four times. On May 6, 2004, at 588 miles
I returned the car to Sam Leman in Morton. New Software flashed. On August 8,
2004, at 3909 miles I returned the car to Sam Leman in Morton. No action taken.
I was told the factory was working on new software. I called Sam Leman mid September
and asked if the new software was available and was told no. On November 12,
2004, 6235 miles I returned the car to Sam Leman in Morton. New Software flashed.
On November 15, 2004, at 6325 miles I returned the car to Sam Leman in Morton.
Co-Pilot was installed.
I have owned the car 8 months and I find the performance of this car TOTALLY
UNACCEPTABLE. I have asked for the Sam Leman's Service Manger call me to discuss
this. My only discussion with the Service manager has been a quick passing in
the hallway telling me the whining noise is normal. I requested a meeting or
phone call from Chrysler's area Service Rep. I have never heard from anyone
from Chrysler. The treatment from Sam Leman's Service Management and Chrysler
Service Management gets an F rating from my wife and myself for Customer Service.
We do not feel Chrysler is taking our problems seriously, especially the safety
issue.

Salesperson was very good, fair, and responsive. Service Dept. was a complete
joke and dealership does not stand behind their product regarding defective
brake rotors and ball joints! Crappy brakes and Ball Joints. (Note:
After much denial about the problem, DC issued a ball joint recall in Dec 2004)

Sales=Good, Service=Fair, bought there=Yes,
Bought a new 2003 Dodge Ram Quad Cab broke down after 900 miles they had truck
5 days and said they would leave it set inside and didn't. I ended up with $1700.00
hail damage and they won't help with my deduct able of $500.00. Then when I
had the hail damage fixed I found out that my brand new $30,000.00 truck had
already been painted on the door from damage done at the dealer and I wasn't
even told about it. So I bought a brand new used truck. THEY DON"T CARE
ABOUT YOU!!!!!!!!

Return trips always required to get things repaired. The service department
price quotes some times are far lower than the actual price you are charged.
Had transmission serviced, started experiencing clutch chatter shortly after,
found out they installed wrong transmission fluid. They told me it could be
flushed at my expense. They did call me at home the same day and stated they
would flush it for me.
Avoid having work done.

Sales=Good, Service=Avoid,
The service department personnel quote prices for routine service, but,when
you pay the bill may two to three times the price you were told. This has been
the experience for me with two different vehicles. Take your vehicle somewhere
else for repairs.

Service gives you the run around, insults your intelligence. I am an engineer
and they try to pass stuff off on you like you would not believe! I am on my
4th trans. on my Ram 2500 4X4 in 500 miles (first one lasted 70,000), and they
don't have a clue.
