Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=Maybe,
I have been new car shopping via the internet and was put in touch with 'Thomas
"GUS" Gustave' at the Bill Kay dealer in Naperville. I was told that
my 98 Camry, in need of a new water pump and timing belt, would be worth $4000
if no other major problems were found. Since they were unwilling to have my
car towed in, I decided to work out a price with Gus before paying for the tow.
I called Gus on Saturday and told him I would be willing to pay $30500 for a
in stock Pacifica. He agreed to the price and the trade in's pending inspection.
I then asked if we could determine how much more cash I would need to meet the
10% down required for 0% financing. He told me that we could work that out when
I get there and to have the car towed out. I did just that, at a cost of $80.
Upon arriving at the dealership, I was told that the price Gus quoted was including
$3000 factory rebate. When I asked Gus how I could have the rebate when he knew
I wanted 0% financing, he lied to my face and said he had no knowledge of our
conversation. His manager then told me that I should have gotten it in writing
and I was out of luck.
I can't describe how upset I am with this dealer. I told Gus I didn't want a
run around, just an honest price before I tow my car in. Instead I get lied
to. I would still like to by a Pacifica, but this dealer has really made me
hesitant about buying Chrysler. I don't expect anything more than a fair price
and to be treated honestly. Unfortunately that seems beyond the capacity of
Thomas "GUS" Gustave and the rest of the Bill Kay team.
BOTTOM LINE: If you are going to by a Chrysler, buy from another dealer!
