I went in looking for a dodge ram mega cab 2006 and dealt with West. He told
us that he had been working for the dealer ship for two months but didn't have
knowledge about the vehicle or rebates. I told him that we were looking to buy
but not the color red. Then when it came towards price he didn't want to budge
from the sticker. Me and my husband walked out of the dealership and they have
called us and we just won't answer. They have also sent us a post card. I believe
if your in the dealership to purchase a vehicle and they want to play games,
there are other dealers looking to sell their product. Hope this answers anyone's
question don't go deal with them. They are a bad dealership!
Do your research in the state of florida and do believe in the scams that could
happen to you, protect yourself.

Sales=Poor, Service=Fair, Parts=Good, bought there=No, scv_there=Yes,
Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=Yes,
Earlier this evening, (03/23/06 - approximately 5:00 pm EST), I contacted, via
telephone, Gulf Coast Dodge located at 15565 S. Taimiami Trail, Fort Myers,
Florida to inquire about a 2006 Ram 2500 Quad Cab Diesel 4X4. The individual
I spoke with (later learned his name was Jores St. Hubin) advised me that he
had "thousands" of them in stock and for me to come by and I could
pick one out. I stated, "you have thousands?" And he stated yes he
had thousands of them. I asked him if had them in all colors and he stated yes
and again, he stated for me to come down and pick one out. I was a little leery
of this, however I decided to make the 45 minute drive down to the showroom.
Once I arrived I met with Jores and he took me out on the lot. I was shown approximately
5-7 vehicles that met my request. One of the vehicles (Atlantic Blue) was close
to what I was looking for, but not exactly what I was looking for. Jores stated
the rest of the trucks on the lot were 4X2's or Megacabs and "we"
want to get the Atlantic Blue one. I advised Jores that it did not have everything
that I wanted and then asked where were the "thousands" of 2006 2500
Quad Cab Diesel 4X4's that he told were on the lot. Jores stated the rest were
in a warehouse. I stated lets go look at them and he stated it was closed. We
then went back into the showroom where he proceeded to work out "the numbers"
on the Atlantic Blue truck. I felt that I was being scammed first by the telephone
conversation and then by this "numbers" game. Not to mention the low
ball offering for my trade-in. When I stated what I thought was a fair price
for my vehicle (based exactly upon NADA) and told him that 1500.00 off the MSRP
was still a little too steep, he became belligerent and stated they could not
do the deal. I was taken a back by both his behavior and "the manager's."
I subsequently left the dealership. I have since purchased what I was looking
for from Dayton Andrews Dodge in St. Petersburg, Florida. I got exactly what
was in NADA for my trade in and an extremely fair price for the new vehicle.
I was treated extremely well and would definitely recommend Dayton Andrews Dodge
as a good choice to shop for a new vehicle. I have had to take my other Dodge
vehicles into this dealership for minor warranty work. 5 years ago they were
a good to excellent service center. Recently I had to take my vehicle in for
warranty and the service level has definitely deteriorated to only marginally
fair.

Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=No,
Called to check on available models/prices of Dodge 2500 Cummins equipped trucks...pushy
salesman could not give me prices, he said he was not at his computer at the
moment and he needed my name and phone number to call me back. Like I don't
know that there is an 80% chance that his telephone sits on the same desk as
his computer? Obviously just a way to get my contact information, still no call
back from this highly intelligent individual. This is the level of incompetancy
that creates a negative stereotype for all dealers. Likewise, I had a dealing
with their parts department a few years back. The employee did not have the
basic knowledge necessary to look up, order and sell parts. Even though there
has been some negative incidents at Plattner Dodge (Labelle, FL), I will go
there first from now on.

This by far is the BEST Dealer Service Department I have ever visited. I was
traveling on vacation in the area and they accommodated me immediately, knew
I was waiting for my truck and serviced my vehicle within 1 hour. The work was
done as expected they had well trained and experienced Diesel mechanics. Quite
a pleasant surprise these days !!!
My subsequent 2 visits for other issues were just good as the first! BTW the
shop was spotless and pleasant ... no grease buildup in this shop!
This dealer clearly deserves it's 5 Star rating!

My salesperson was sernity...she was refreshing...she worked us a deal on the
truck we were looking for at the price we wanted...we had purchased a van there
years ago and they took us for a hard ride...overcharged us and left us with
a sour taste in our mouth...we were truly surprised this time... and we will
also let everyone know if we run into any trouble word of mouth is very powerful.

Sales=Poor, Service=Avoid,
your definition of the "Avoid" fits them well. I have had this truck for 3 years
and it currently has 44500 miles on it. I was headed for work on 12/15/2001
and my "check gage" warning sounded. I found that the oil pressure had dropped
to 0. I had the truck towed to the dealership to be checked. The dealership
called me on Monday and stated that it needed a new engine. They stated that
sludge had built up in the engine due to lack of oil changes. Now I do my own
oil changes so I had no way to prove that the oil had been changed in fact it
was done every 8000 miles. The new engine will cost me $5500.00 if they do it.

Sales=Poor, Service=Avoid,
Sales staff knew little to nothing about the vehicle. Price was acceptable,
but not great, after a long negotiation. Paperwork took hours, even though I
paid cash. Service department is useless. Everything is "normal."
