I purchased a used 05 Chevy in January of 2007. After owning the truck for about a month and a half (and having it in service 2 times) an authorized service dealer in Tampa told me that the truck had a cracked frame and had been welded together before. The truck had an after market lift kit that apparently voided the factory warranty (I was told that it had a full warranty left on it). It would cost approx. $819 to fix this cracked frame. I told the owner of Charlie's Dodge that I was willing to split the bill and call it even (even though I now own a truck with NO warranty). He did nothing for me to help in the situation and said that the truck was not THEIR problem after it left the sales lot. I WOULD HIGHLY AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP. I am pretty easy going but this was a typical shady car lot act. Everything about the purchase of this vehicle from Charlie's Dodge make me sick.
It's not only about the repair on the vehicle but the fact that they are not taking care of their customers. We will see if the local news stations will be interested in this story. It is a shame that this small amount of money and lack of customer support and sympathy will result in negative advertisement for Charlie's Dodge. After all, the best sales business exist from word of mouth.

In 2003 we purchased a dealer certified (8,80000) 2000 Dodge Durango. We love the vehicle! We also purchased and financed a 1200.00 extended "wrap- around" policy with Daimler/ Chrysler. We recently found that we have no coverage!! Guess what? They never applied for the "wrap" through the company, and pocketed the money. As of yesterday, they are still refusing to return the money they stole from us. 4/26 Scott O'Keefe " We've got you all taken care of. I spoke to so and so (insert fictitious name, as he could not give me his phone #), and he said you're
all set! Good news, you can now come up and get that door lock fixed!" " We just want our money back," I said. " No way am I going to cut you a check! I'm trying to help you, but you aren't willing to listen" I repeat that I am only going to be satisfied with the return of the money they stole from us, with interest! Now he pronounces me rude, and will not talk to me any further. Well there are people who are interested in talking to me; namely the Attorney General's Office, Florida Motor Vehicle, Better Business Bureau, and our local civil court! By the way. as of today, Daimler/Chrysler still has no record of any warranty for us. By the way, did you all know that the DMV is in charge of licensing these dealer's to stay in business? Call them!!

Avoid like the Plague Service Department
While traveling to Florida for the winter, a brand new Chrysler transmission under warranty gave out. Charlie's Dodge service was not content to do the warranty work parts and labor guaranteed by Chrysler, at their reimbursed warranty work so charged me $800 for work that they said was necessary to maintain the warranty.
They had me over a barrel and they knew it, and they were not honest people.

I will never purchase a vehicle from Charlies Dodge again. I dealt with a con-artist salesman who made promises he didn't keep. The day I drove off the lot with the vehicle I had to bring it back for problems. I told them then I did not want the vehicle, and I was told to wait, drive it for a while and maybe Id like it. A week later I brought the vehicle back, and my salesman wasn't in. I was told to wait for him to come in. He ended up getting fired and I was basically told by the OWNER "tough, you bought it now deal with it". He professionalism was the pits to say the least. He was uncompassionate, and not only is that, in my opinion, unprofessional it was also immoral. My truck has literally been in that shop for one thing or another on the average of every other month. Its the biggest piece of crap I have ever owned. I would buy a Dodge again, but I will never ever deal with Mr. Floyd and his cronies again. I will take my business elsewhere.
The owner of Charlie's Dodge may want to reconsider how he speaks to his customers. I think not only does he need a class in public relations, so does his Finance Manager. I do have one positive thing to say about the dealership and that is the way the Service Manager conducts himself is the way everyone in that dealership should. The owner may want to take a few lessons from this man.

Tried to buy a truck from them, they would not give me a price, then all of a sudden the sales manager was missing. Said if they come up with a price i would have to put 1000 down on the spot. Would not even let me go home to talk to my wife about it. Said deal would not stand the next day. Also said they would not do any dealing over the phone or fax. Wasted 2 hours of my time! I wish BMW would sell a truck, never had a problem at a BMW dealer.

Brought my 2000 Isuzu Rodeo there for warranty work..........They ignored it and kept saying they could not find the noise. Recently My A/C compressor broke.........the source of the noise but they told me now that the Truck is 1000 miles over the warranty number (50,000) I'm SOL. A $1200.00 repair bill later and 5 days in the shop I just brought the Truck home and guess what? Its worse than when I brought it in ! The car is idling from 500-3000 RPM. I never had an Idle problem. These are a bunch of crooks. AVOID at all COSTS!!! Stay away.
I went Japanese this time because I didn't want any problems. My Chevy S10 gave me less heartache in 10 yrs then this Izusu gave me in 3. What a piece of s#!t and this dealership is the Pitts. STAY AWAY. I might by a new Dodge........but not from Charlies. No F**KING way.

Has been great place to do business. Car dealerships all to often are a pain to work with, but this one has been super. Saw where one respondent to this survey called the people at Charlie's "clowns". some people just don't recognize a good deal when they have one. Pretty sure I know this fellow, and he's the clown. Any dealer who sells for $100 over invoice sure isn't going to provide much after the sale and that's what I care about. Let the dealer make a little profit ( not a killing !! ). Maybe he, or she will be there for you when you need them. Can't say that I love my car dealer, but there isn't a more honest and friendly one than Charlie's.

These clowns wouldn't give me a price. All they kept saying was 1% over invoice - "you been on the internet you know the prices". I ordered my Ram from another dealer at $100 over invoice. My friend had previously gone to Charlie's and they pulled the same crap on him - wouldn't give him a price. He went across the street and bought a Chevy van.

I am a collision shop owner in Stuart FL just a few miles from Charlie's Dodge, I would like to add a few of my experiences with this dealer. The parts dept. has little or no knowledge of how a successful body shop is run or the needs of a collision shop. Parts sold to the wholesale trade are frequently for inflated prices Parts are of poor replacement quality. Parts often arrive in previously opened boxes. Parts are often times shelf worn and dusty. Included items as part of assemblies are often times missing from the assembly. Credits and returns of damaged, incomplete, wrong, or otherwise unacceptable parts are often overlooked or mis-applied. In general, any collision repair operation should avoid this dealer at all costs.

I came to Charlies due to a problem with my Durango and the Service Manager was just so bothered by my problem , he just wanted me to go, he says just leave the vehicle with us til we check it out and we will get back to you , and he just couldn't come to a compromise that I lived in west palm beach and was unable to get a ride to work or home. I made an appointment for this particular reason and when I told him about my unfortunate situation, he very rudely told me to just take my Durango and come back when I can find a way home. That experience hurt me and I really thought Charlie's was a good place but with a manager like that , they will not ever see me there again. Charlies Dodge and Isuzu has great sales and body shop , but Scott O'keef needs a new job. Number of dealership visits=9, Last visit=August 21,2002, Date submitted: 04 Sep 2002

I have bought two used vehicles from Charlies Dodge, both car and truck. I have had very good relations with the sales Dept. and the service Dept. The only thing that they ask of me is to follow a basic maintenance schedule and they take care of my vehicles. I have had no complaints except they took a little to long to find one problem I had, but it was repaired and I was on my way. I know they are a very busy service dept. and the reason is because they are very good at what they do. If they were not, they wouldn't be so busy! Service department was very reluctant to look at the vehicle. Wanted me to put tires on it before they even checked the noise in the rear end. Date submitted: 21 Aug 2002

Chrysler must sell the five star rating to dealers. This dealership claims five star rating. What they didn't tell me about is their minus star attitude and service. This was the most unprofessional experience I've had with a dealership. In particular I'm referring to the service dept. Total incompetence from the top down. Scott O'Keefe the worst "mgr" ever. Anybody can smile and sell a vehicle. The rubber meets the road with service or lack thereof.

Sales=Excellent, Service=Avoid,
Service Department did not know how many quarts of ATF required in a Automatic Trans.

Dealership Rating:
Good sales department, good service
Fair sales, fair service
Conflicting or not enough information
Poor Service or Poor Sales Department
Avoid like the plague!!
Don't Know or No Experience
