Sales=Don't Know, Service=Avoid, bought there=No,
Took my 1997 Dodge 2500 CTD for a throttle linkage recall. When called to set
up appt service advisor told me the idle would be set as part of the recall.
When dropped of truck, wrote on ticket to check idle. When picked up truck and
paid was told by service advisor that the idle had been set. When started truck
to leave, discovered the idle had not been set. Returned to Medved. After the
service advisor consulted a mechanic, the service advisor then told me that
on 12 valve trucks the idle could not be set without first completing several
diagnostic tests and that the cost would be $45. I agreed to pay and have the
idle set. When speaking with the mechanic after the work was completed, the
mechanic told me he had not performed any diagnostic tests as part of setting
the idle. I paid and left. Upon leaving, I realized my heater vent controls
did not work. Returned to Medved for them to find that a vacuum hose had been
bumped loose. The idle was still low, although at this point I did not have
the time to address it. In a phone call from the service manager the next day,
the service manager volunteered that when Medved bought the Burt dealership
the other service manager and ALL of the service advisors had left. The service
manager also volunteered that none of the new service advisors have any Dodge
(let alone Cummins) experience. At this point, I asked for a refund of the $45
since the diagnostics were not completed. The service manager told me it would
take some time to get a refund as this was "corporate." I persisted and was
eventually refunded the $45 that day since the diagnostic tests were not performed.
