they said they would give us the car we were interested in buying to take home and drive until we found out about our loan oh they also had our vehicle during this time. We ending up deciding we couldn't afford the payments on a loan that big. So when we went to take the car back and said we want our car back (the finance manager assured us if we didn't want the car we would get ours back and that would be it)they said no we were stuck paying for the loaner vehicle and if we pay it in full that they would put it as a repo on our credit!!! These people prey on young military family's so now we have no car they ended up with both our vehicles and we ended up with bad credit!!!

Well where do I start. I don't need a new car but was interested in trading in my fairly new seebring for a new nitro. Well the manager calls me at 9pm and tells me hey come on down I have your credit report and your good to go. I drive 45min with traffic to get there and then that's when it starts. He starts going into things on my credit and I may have to throw down a few thousand, I tell him NO WAY. Then the whole high five attitude changes, he said they didn't have the color I wanted and the bank still had to approve, these are things that he said he had and were done before I got there. They ended up turning me over to this 65 yr old who did do a good job at nothing but saying call me back the bank is not responding and its a mad house in here, and by the way, " your a great guy" AVOID CAL WORTHINGTON DODGE CARLSBAD LIKE IT WERE A HORRIBLE DISEASE!!!I went somewhere else and did end up getting what I wanted with out any problems.

I took the truck to the dealer for the engine light on. They said my transmission was in shambles with 60,000 miles on it. After 3 days in the shop they said I needed a new torque converter,front pump,input shaft,and disk/plates. Estimate was $2,568. This truck has driven solid and I decided to get the tranny fluid changed at a local garage. They found NO metal or shavings in the pan and the light went off. I turned them into the Bureau of Automotive Repairs and got the money they charged for diagnostics back. These guys tried to pull one on me and I stumped them. The truck now has over 123,000 miles and trany has not been touched. Recently I went back for a speedometer recalibration after I put on larger tires. I know this involves plugging in a handheld computer and pushing a few buttons and takes 5 minutes. They wanted to charge me 1.5 hours for this. I told the advisor that I knew exactly what it entailed and he said that was the price. I went to another dealer and he charged me $40 something since a half hour rate was the lowest he could go. Worthington Dodge has crooked service advisors and I am willing to paint that on my truck.

what i remember about my experience there is that the sales secretary who was doing the paperwork was overheard by me talking to the salesman how i couldn't make up my mind what i wanted and i should not buy now. i thought for her to go behind my back and talk about me was enough for me to get up and walkout. didn't do it only because i just came from 2 other dealerships prior to worthington and with 4 children in tow didn't feel liking heading for one more. i overlooked the insult and bought the van anyway. had i to do over again i would of walked away because no one deserves to disrespected like that! it may not be such a big deal to anyone reading but it was to me. will never buy another car from there and will steer people away. car purchased has since been gone due to a bad transmission and had used up its usefulness for my family. they must not believe in repeat customers. staff needs to take classes in customer relations!

My first buying experience in 1996 was BAD! Very stressful, could not answer my questions very well, seemed like I was being deceived about info. Felt like I overpaid on new truck. Shame on me for letting them get to me. Thought I would never go back after that. 2003 buying experience was a complete pleasure. Very easy to deal with manager Ron. What a great guy. Had to grind him a for a couple of hours on price but felt then as I do now 20 months later that I got a fare deal. Service dept has improved over the 8 years I have been going there, fair to good service writers and good to excellent mechanics. Over all I would say, pretty good!!
I been trying to get Dodge to explain why I can get 75,000 miles on my front and rear brakes on my 96 Dodge Ram 4x4 Diesel and why I have had to replace Pads twice, machine rotors twice, replace rotors once, replace Calipers once on my 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with less then 30,000 miles with no change in driving habits? no towing, 60% to 70% Highway miles, no extra weight except me and wifey? 350 lbs between us? Thanks to anyone who will even read my ranting !! :)

I bought used 04 dodge dakota from the salesman George "the Greek" Menos. The truck only has 12000 miles, so I was happy to purchase a used vehicle still under factory warranty. George was a jolly salesman that made my sales experience quick and enjoyable. I drove off the lot and took my truck home. The next morning I notice one of the rear tires was low. I called the used car dept and spoke with Oscar. He told me to bring it in. Once I dropped off the truck i saw they were completely swamped. But those guys got me in and out in 10 minutes. i must have picked up a nail on my way home. Oscar and his crew never questioned it. Now that's customer service.

I was looking for a 2004 Dodge SRT-10 ram pickup. Their internet inventory site said they had one in the color I wanted (silver). Their written ad on their web sites states that every Dodge car and truck will be sold at a discounted price. I sent a request for information and called the dealership. Upon reaching a salesman I was told yes we have the truck and they wanted $10000.00 over MSRP for it. I read their internet ad to the man and said "this was different". I asked him why it was different and he hung up on me. Later in the day about 8:00 PM a man called and identified himself as the internet MGR of Worthington Dodge. I asked him about the truck and he reiterated that it was $10000.00 over window sticker price. I again brought up their ad and was told that this is a "special vehicle". I asked him if he would honor his printed ad if I brought it in. He chuckled and no. I am going to pursue this at the state level. FALSE ADVERTISING.

They lied, used switch and bait, and insulted me to make up for their own lies in front of half a dozen customers on the showroom floor. The sales manager lies, the salespeople lie, and they use extremely shady business tactics. I would never recommend them to ANYONE - please do not patronize them at all.

Transmission rebuilt and/or repaired three times and still went out, ruining our vacation. Service manager Curtis always uses the line "oh it's probably just a malfunctioning light or sensor" when there are serious problems occurring. Never use this service dept!!!!!

Sales=Poor, Service=Avoid,
To make a long story short, we bought a truck, and the night we drove it away, there were problems with it. The truck had a 30 day warranty, so we took it back the next day, and that's where we begin with the run-around. They told us that it was the brakes, and they supposedly fixed the problem, but as we drove it home, we realized that the problem wasn't fixed. My husband is in the military, and it is very difficult for him to get any time off to deal with this stuff, but he managed to take the truck back 4 times (with me giving him a ride to work an hour away, everyday!) As a matter of fact, my husband was sent out to sea and left the truck there for a week, and they never even touched it. I can't believe the hell they've put us through. I was driving the truck yesterday, taking my kids to their games, and the brakes failed, and could have killed all of us if we had still been on the freeway. The truck was undrivable, and I was stuck on the side of the road with my children and had to pay a tow truck to take it all the way back to the dealer, and now they're giving us a bunch of bull, and finally told us to get our truck off their lot because they were sick of dealing with this problem. Anyway, please do not trust these people! I just don't want them to get away with doing this kind of thing to anyone else!!!!!!! Please, don't ever buy a car from this dealership!!!!!!!!!

Dealership Rating:
