Poor rating for service dept! The quality of service and competency seem to be getting worse. I had one truck in on 2/8/07 for loss of power issues. Service said it was a problem in transmission and would cost $1500 to tear down and make diagnosis. I took it to a regular trans shop I trust, was not trans but boost sensor. $500 later my truck was back to normal. On 2/22/07 I took another truck back for service and a heater problem. They said was low on coolant and recommended coolant flush and new radiator cap, as old one wasn't holding pressure. I do not believe heater issue was checked on 2/22/06, all they did was check coolant level and pressure checked cap not system. Crack in reservoir neck would have been caught at that time. I again took truck to shop I trust, had system flushed and new radiator cap installed. Later that day on freeway temp gauge shot to max hot and check gauge light came on. Got off freeway found out neck of reservoir bottle was cracked and spewed coolant out all over engine. Dealer did replace reservoir for free. I took truck back on 2/26/07 because heater issue had not been fixed. I was told that Chrysler had been notified and recommended changing water pump, thermostat, and pull the heater core to check if plugged. They said other shop installed green coolant instead of red. They also told me it was not covered under warrantee and would be $700-$750 tear down to inspect. I took it back to other shop, owner found problem is defective hinge pin in panel vent door. I called Moss and spoke to Rene the service tech I have been dealing with. He still stated that it won't be covered and refused to do anything to help. I have also explained that within a week of buying this truck on 8/15/06 I did mention it to the fleet sales lady I bought it from about the heater issue. She told me at the time to wait until I bring it in for service then have them check it. Now she doesn't remember me saying anything until last week when I brought it in.
Must be very careful in dealing with this service dept. as they will find many other things wrong besides what is complained about and start adding up costs. Even after I spoke to the lady that sold me the truck she told me to go talk to Rene the service tech and he will explain everything to me step by step. When I went to talk to him all he did was start defending the tech and everything else without explaining anything, and had the attitude TO BAD SO SORRY! I even asked about a couple of TSB's and Recall all he said was the tech checked and there was no problem, but yet the other shop I went to found the vent door problem without removing the dash, like the dealer wanted to do. Yes I refused to have the dealer make repairs because of 3 misdiagnosis, and being caught in a few lies, and because I couldn't see spending $700 just to look at it and see if something is wrong or not. I also told Rene in service that I will only bring it back because I have to because of my extended warrantee, and afterwards I will NOT be bringing ANY of my vehicles back there for ANY service.
I love the truck and have had no problems with it since I bought it except for the heater not putting out hot air, and dealer service dept problems.

The Fleet Manager Steve and his team are the best!I did the purchase over the phone and they brought it to my work 75 miles away! When it was 2 weeks old it had a small problem and they picked it up and brought it back to me. My local dealer is not worth a damn and I will drive to this
dealer for all repairs. The time is worth it not having to deal with the local incompetence.

Sales=Fair, Service=Avoid, Parts=Good, bought there=Yes, scv_there=Yes, Buy_DaimlerChrysler_again=Yes,
Avoid Moss Brothers like a plague. Have been their 3 times and all three times was quoted repairs not required. Latest was a valve job (cost $2,500) for a check engine light flashing. Repair ended up being a tune up to fix my problem (cost $577.00). After tune up my truck ran worse and had more problems than before the tune up. Was told I needed a $700.00 floor pan service bulletin to fix a clunking noise while turning. Repair at another dealer was an $80.00 front brake job (cal. was sticking and popping loose when I turned) noise has never returned.
would rather eat nails and poop barbwire before returning to Moss brothers dodge for service.

Bought a Ram 1500 pu in 1997. Sales dept. was OK about usual for car buying. I have since returned four times to their service dept. and recommend avoiding it like the plague. The first experience involved a loud clunking noise when turning. Was told by service manager that cause was from (oil canning) of floor board under seat. The fix would require a $700.00 service bulletin to be accomplished. Took truck to another mechanic, spent $80.00 on front brake job, noise left and never returned. Second visit was for a failed starter (under warranty). Starter was fixed no problems, but while standing there waiting for delivery I watched my truck come around corner and was thrown into park before vehicle had stopped moving. I was horrified at the noise it made. Complained to service manager and was treated like there was nothing he could do. Third visit was for a check engine light that came on and flashed. I was told by service manager that the computer was faulting a miss fire code due to my compression being low (120 in lowest cyl. 135 in highest) and would require a valve job on the heads to fix the problem. (quoted cost $2,500 parts and labor) Declined the valve job and requested a full tune of plugs, wires, rotor bug, cap, etc.(cost $577.00) They also hot tanked the throttle body (said it was dirty). Check engine light has not returned, however when I received the truck back it would not idle under 1100 rpm. Forth visit was for the idle problem. The service manager calls to tell me that he needs to bump up his estimate that they must trouble shoot some wires between the computer and the idle fuel actuator which I do approve thinking they have found the problem. The service manager calls me later to tell me they have found the problem and that it will require a new power control module (computer). Cost $400.00. I again decline the repair and tell them I will come down and pick up the vehicle. When I arrive to get the truck when I start it it will not idle under 1500 rpm and the check engine light is on (steady). When I tried to drive it it was like a dog. It would not even down shift into a lower gear. When I complained that the problem was worse than when I brought it in they told me it was because I needed that new computer. I left with my disabled truck and will never return to that dealer again. I would advise others to stay as far away as possible.
I would rather eat nails and crap barb wire before returning to Moss brothers dodge for any repairs.

Sales=Good, Service=Good,
This dealer was recommended to me by a friend, who has nothing but praise for them. My experience with them has been a calamity of errors, but in all honesty they have (so far) worked through them to my satisfaction, although they could have been more communicative while doing so. I do love my truck, but unfortunately it had a failure of the rear axle (pinion gears/bearings) within the first 2600 miles...To the dealer's credit they did not quibble in the slightest about the problem, and while I was pretty unhappy about a catastrophic failure in a new vehicle, stuff DOES happen and the measure of the dealership is NOT in preventing problems, but rather how they deal with them....In my case, I had a loaner vehicle and was on my way within an hour...The parts (because this is such a new component) took a day or so to locate (also not really fun for me) but as soon as they were located they were ordered....I did lean on the sales manager a little to put a fire under service, but truth be told the only effect that could have had was to make SURE I didn't get lost in the shuffle once the parts are in...
Regarding the sales staff, like any other sales people, they are out to make a buck and will take it where they can get it... price negotiation is always a BUYERS issue and based on credit score, availability and willingness to be persistent you should walk into a dealership knowing a realistic range of where you CAN and WANT to be...Outside of that: look elsewhere. Finally, I have not allowed the Sales Team to be dismissive of me once the sale was made... I keep them involved through selective whining AND providing a sales lead...

Sales=Poor, Service=Don't Know,
Bought a 3500 truck. Sales man did a good job on every thing but when it was delivered it was not detailed. It was missing a rear window latch. After several calls still no part and had to take it to be polished out to get the spots off it! waiting for the CSI survey HE HE!

Sales=Avoid, Service=Avoid,
Avoid at all cost. They have bait and switch tactics, incompetence they charge you for parts you do not need and still does not fix the problem. Untrained staff. Does not use common sense Sales are waiting in groves for you, you do not want to even get out of your call. They call the make and color of car that pulls in the parking lot then the chase is on. Do not use them unless you are rich, and can afford to put parts in your vehicle you do not need.

Sales=Avoid, Service=Good,
When first looking to buy a truck, was told by sales staff that they felt that I really couldn't afford the truck that I was looking for, so that I had better start out in a Base model Dakota, and then, "we'll decide what you can afford".. I was looking for a 2001 QC SWB 2wd 5.9 Auto- nothing too far out of reach... They had never seen me before, and never ran my Credit ( nor did I give them the chance)... I then left to another Dealership (Redlands Dodge), where they were willing to make a deal, and 2 hrs later, I drove back to Moss in my new Ram to show the salesman that it can be a costly mistake to judge a book by it's cover...
