After purchasing a travel trailer, my wife and I needed a newer vehicle to tow it with. On our way to Renfrew Chrysler (where we have purchased 3 other vehicles), we decided to stop and see what Big 4 had to offer. Walking into the showroom, we were greeted by a salesman who asked what we were looking for in a truck. We told him the most important feature was towing capability, followed by price, options, and colour. The salesman ran our numbers for trailer weight, and told us that we would be fine with the Ram 1500 with a 3.93 rear axle. The delivery on this vehicle was a week or so, and in that time I phoned our salesman to ask him to double, and then triple check the numbers to be sure our trailer weight would not be a problem. I was told each time that we would be fine. Now camping season is here, and we find out that the truck would have had enough power to pull our trailer, if it was the truck we were told we were buying. The truck sold to us did not have the 3.93 rear axel ratio, and is not sufficient to pull our trailer. We phoned Big 4 (who fired our salesman shortly after our purchase) and gave them the opportunity to make this right. We were told that there was nothing they would do for us, other than to sell us a new truck with better towing capabilities. This will be the absolute last dealership that I ever walk into. The service department has been very good, prompt and efficient, but since they are attached to the Big 4 name, I will also take my vehicle elsewhere to be serviced. We would consider buying another Dodge product, but definitely not from Big 4 .

Was in Calgary for a Dyno-Day, my throttle position sensor was acting up, I am from Edmonton, we got it in out of the cold, the part was a $700+ piece The service advisor let me keep it in the heated drivethru till we sourced a used one for a lot less money, and allowed us to put it on in there even!! The professional courtesy that was extended to us was greatly appreciated, this service department goes the extra mile.

Came in for fuel mileage issues with white smoke at start up and overhead fuel mileage inaccuracy's. Gave service advisor copy of bulletin pertaining to this. Only question was, "You are experiencing this, right?" Got truck in at a decent time and completed work, sent me on my way.
Truck was clean and unscratched, and work requested had been done first time (not after 4 trips like other dealers). Will definitely return to Big 4 for other work in future.

We made an offer to purchase a vehicle... a counter offer was received from the dealership...we subsequently countered with another offer and stated that we would pay cash for the vehicle right now if they would accept this offer... we waited for 1 day for a response (apparently the sales personnel were in meetings!!) and they now wanted to wait until the vehicle (a lease back) went through the mechanical inspection. We were then contacted by the dealership the following day and were told that vehicle had now been sold to another party. A subsequent phone call to the sales manager resulted in even more disappointment - "This is the way we do business" we were told! If this is the way that this dealership deals with potential customers, then who did they have to pay to get their 5 star rating!!

Tip for car buyers: A buyer in the showroom and willing to pay will almost always beat someone in the process of negotiating - especially if the negotiator is not there. If you don't have to buy a particular vehicle and can wait for your price, then do so. If you really want a specific vehicle, you may have to pounce because you can never assume that someone else will not take it.  DaveF

Sales=Don't Know, Service=Don't Know,
Can't comment on Sales and Service, but I can't recommend their parts counter. Diesel Delivery Valve seal / washer? What's that, our computer is down, you'll need to go to Cummins. (Which I should have done in the first case. But I gave a Chrysler parts counter yet another chance - in vain). P7100 diesel return valve? Don't have, why would you want one of those? Never mind. A different thermostat for a 98 Diesel. No, they only make one. Not true brother, Cummins actually makes a slow-cycle unit for cold climates. Just because YOU don't know, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. And don't be so rude to your clients. (Or ex-potential clients in my case) Having said all that, I can only sing praise for the guys at Cummins in both Calgary and Edmonton, both service and parts, advice on non-stock units, filtration, special tools, etc etc. I guarantee no Chrysler dealer will ever see me where my two engines are concerned.

Sales=Good, Service=Don't Know,
It was interesting, we purchased a 2000 Neon through a fleet vehicle deal, it's always hard to say if your getting a good deal or not.

Dealership Rating:
Good sales department, good service
Fair sales, fair service
Conflicting or not enough information
Poor Service or Poor Sales Department
Avoid like the plague!!
Don't Know / No Experience
